I don’t write a lot about work for a vari­ety of rea­sons, but yes­ter­day was a good pri­ma­ry project day. I worked at my site’s booth in a sci­ence and tech­nol­o­gy expo­si­tion for kids. The focus of our booth was alter­na­tive ener­gy, and there was a hands-on activ­i­ty where the kids got to see wind, solar, and chem­i­cal ener­gy work. A mini solar cell ran a cal­cu­la­tor, then the kids had to hook up a pota­to and a lime to gen­er­ate enough chem­i­cal ener­gy to also run the cal­cu­la­tor. It was exhaust­ing, but a lot of fun and I either learned a lot of new words in Span­ish or explained things incor­rect­ly the whole day. I don’t have enough time to edit all the pho­tos today, because I need to pack for the week­end and head off to pick up my Mom at the air­port!
