Except, this time on my own…

However, Mike has now promised to focus on 10k training so that he can goad me into blasting out the last 10k and finish in under 4h. I’m basically quoting him there, and I’m counting on the help. Well, at least I’ll have a few more cans of Corona Light to sit in my fridge for a few months afterwards. Nothing like an endurance sporting event being sponsored by a beer company.

  1. Isn’t there a study that shows that beer is good for recovery? And besides, being sponsored by a beer company is better than a windsurfing world championship being sponsored by a cigarette company – seriously! Export A Cigarettes sponsored the 1984 championships in Canada. That was after a couple of years of regional races sponsored by Meyer’s Rum. We windsurfers kept good company!

P.S. Please don’t need a sub-45-minute 10K. I’m aiming to be ready to deliver sub-50 if necessary, but I’m not promising anything better.

    1. True about the beer, and definitely better than cigarettes. I don’t think you have to worry about the sub-45m 10k. Shouldn’t be a problem. I just figured that since I actually pulled the trigger and registered at your prompting, I had to call you out and take somebody down with me.
